Getting Lumineers by Cerinate

Lumineers are a great alternative to traditional veneers. This brand of veneers is very popular now. Lumineers are covers for your teeth that are a sort of shell. These are placed over your teeth and can cover up a range of cosmetic imperfections. This includes everything from chips to stains to gaps. These will be bonded to the front of each of your teeth.

Understanding Lumineers

Veneers are similar to dental porcelain laminates. This can help you create the smile you have always dreamed of having. These Lumineers are made out of porcelain or resin composites. Each of the materials has its own set of pros and cons. For example, the ones made from porcelain are more resistant to stains while composite veneers are more natural-looking.

Getting Lumineers

You can expect to have about three dental visits in order to get Lumineers. At the first visit, you will discuss your goals with the cosmetic dentist. Your dentist can give you different options when it comes to meeting your goals. You might also have X-rays taken or impressions of your teeth.

At the second visit, your teeth will be prepared for the procedure. The right amount of enamel will be removed to do this. Then your dentist will take an impression of your newly filed down teeth. This is then sent to the laboratory so that your Lumineers can be made.

At the third visit, you get to have your Lumineers put into place. These will be placed against your teeth, so you can see what they will look like. This will also help check that they fit properly. If needed, the dents can make a few minor adjustments to them. When both you and your cosmetic dentist are happy with how they look, the veneers will be permanently put into place.

Are Lumineers the Same as Traditional Veneers?

There are a few differences between traditional dental veneers and Lumineers. The main difference is the size. Lumineers are not quite as thick as traditional veneers. This can be a good thing because it can make it easier to place on your teeth.

There is not as much of a need to file down your teeth before attaching the Lumineers. This means that not as much enamel will need to be removed. Traditional veneers are around half of a millimeter thick, while Lumineers are about 0.3 of a millimeter thick.

Talking to Your Dentist

Getting dental Lumineers is a simple process. There is no need for you to feel ashamed or self-conscious about the way your smile looks. Talking to your dentist will help you determine what your options are. For example, you may only need Lumineers on some of your teeth. Or you may want to consider whitening all of your teeth before getting these veneers.
